Frequently Asked Questions

How do you work?

Difficulties that originate in relationship can be explored and healed through relationship within a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space where you can feel fully met, heard and accepted. The work combines mindfulness with a pluralistic, relational approach. This means that, as we talk and work together, we pay careful attention to feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations, to the ‘felt sense’ of what is happening in the moment. Appreciation of this ongoing process draws on a range of psychotherapeutic understanding and practice. There is an underlying trust in, and respect for, your inherent capacity for health and well-being.

How much do you charge?

I charge £60 for a one hour session.

Do you offer concessions?

Concessions are sometimes available. Please ask.

When are you available?

I am available weekday daytimes and evenings.

How long are sessions?

Sessions last for one hour.

Can I miss a session or sessions?

Subject to sufficient notice, it is possible to miss a session. I normally ask for a week's notice. If you plan to be away for more than one session more advanced warning would be appreciated.

Where do you work?

I work at the Kailash Centre in St Johns Wood, NW8 (see map) and at home in a quiet, private room in Crouch End, N8 (see map).

How do I get there?

St Johns Wood is the nearest tube station to the Kailash Centre. For Crouch End the nearest tube stations are Finsbury Park and Archway. The W7, W5, W3 and 210 will drop you nearby, the 41 and 91 right outside.

Is short-term counselling available?

Yes. Six sessions would be a suggested starting point.

What is the difference between short and long-term work?

Change can occur quite rapidly, certainly at first, and specific problems can be addressed in this way through short-term work. More long-term open-ended work allows the necessary time and space for lasting transformation to naturally take place.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes.

Is telephone counselling available?

Normally the work takes place face-to-face, but brief telephone support is available if needed. Longer calls or full telephone sessions are available if desired or necessary, and are charged pro-rata at the usual rate.
